Africa Barter Club

We barter on our everyday to day basis - sometimes without even realising it. This is why The Zambia-Africa Barter Club has introduced itself as an exchange club: To give you the opportunity to participate. At the Zambia Bartering Club, you are able to exchange anything you have for something you need, anywhere across the globe.

What is barter?
Barter allows you to buy what you need and pay for it with other unsold products and services, without using cash.

An executive from one of America’s oldest bartering companies once said: "Whatever it is --surplus or seasonal inventory, a discontinued line, cancelled orders, store returns-- you can trade it, rather than liquidate it, and recover the value that has been lost".

Africans are still afraid to join barter clubs and trade through barter. The problem is that most Africans have been brought up to believe that cash is the only way to surviving in this world. And this problem lies deep within the Africans. What Africans do not realize is that 30% of the world’s business income comes from barter business. Even corporations won’t tell anyone that they are bartering and they won’t tell anyone for fear of competition. Companies are now able to barter computers, electronics, hotel nights, writing services, veterinarian visits, massages, car repairs, carpet cleaning, and photography. The list is endless. Here is how it works.

How it works
If a business that has produced a lot of products for a certain market fails to sell all its products, it can put the product on the barter exchange for a set price. Another business “purchases” the product, putting trade money into the first business’ account. That first business then can use the trade money to “pay” for an accountant’s expertise, a window cleaning service, or an advertisement project. No money is exchanged, only trade money in credits is spent. Dentists, farmers, gardeners, therapists, doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, plumbers, constructors, carpenters, car dealers, mechanics, electricians, all work and give their services and goods in exchange for other services. Bartering is known to be profitable despite the lack of formal records. Analysts say that Asia alone has a bartering business worth $90 billion each year. And over 250,000 U.S. businesses actively use organized barter.

Who can barter?
All can barter. From organisations, small companies, to individuals. The Zambia Bartering Club gives each Zambian, African and anyone a chance to produce something at the same time be the consumer. To join the Zambia-Africa Barter Club, you have to be both the producer of goods and the consumer. In short the prosumer.

The Zambia-Africa Barter Club helps you to:
Barter goods and services locally in Zambia, in Africa and the world as a whole.
Barter goods and services through the Internet.
Help you to swap and exchange anything you have without much thought of the market value.

How to become a member
It is free to become a member of the Barter Club. All you have to do is send us an email with your name, address and email address. The membership covers your whole family for 12 months. You can cancel anytime.

Freight: If you want to exchange goods from other countries you must be willing to pay for freight and tax. Bartering is not tax-free. The goodness is you can always afford the price. Most people include the market value of their property or services when bartering. It is wise to do so. You and your exchange partner can talk about the costs to establish the value. Let bartering exchange save some of your financial worries.

In your country: If you want to exchange goods within Zambia you must be willing to travel long distance to collect the goods or to give the services needed. It is much easier to barter in one’s own country as people are closer to each other, and can have a continuous relationship through the barter trade.

The Zambia-Africa Barter club is like an intermediary. We handle the financial records and keep them as to provide information if something goes wrong with your transactions.
